  1. aAt Time 1, we asked: “How likely would you be to participate in the Million American Study, on a scale from 1 to 6 where 1 is very unlikely and 6 is very likely?”
  2. bAt Time 2, we asked: “Now that you’ve had a chance to think about it more, I’m going to ask you again about how likely you would be to participate in the pretend study. Your answer might be the same as before or different. Either is okay”
